Faculty Member Named Head of School at Fairfield Country Day School

Westminster School faculty member Jon Deveaux has been appointed head of school at Fairfield Country Day School, beginning July 1, 2019. Jon has been a member of the Westminster faculty since 1993.

Jon enjoyed an impressive tenure in Westminster’s Admissions Office for 25 years, including 22 years as director of admissions, during which time applications to Westminster doubled and the school community became more diverse.

This year, Jon assumed the position of senior advancement director in Westminster’s Advancement Office, allowing him to build on the many relationships he has developed with students and parents over the years. While on the faculty, Jon has also coached First Boys’ Soccer, supervised a corridor in Edge House, taught AP Psychology and served as a student advisor.

Jon graduated from Williams College where he majored in psychology. He was a four-year member of the varsity soccer team, serving as captain during his senior year and earning most valuable player and All-New England honors. He completed his M.A. in the Leadership Academy Program at the Klingenstein Center of Teachers College, Columbia University.

Jon’s family, including his wife, Sara, and their two daughters, Ellie ’14 (Hamilton ’18) and Katie ’16 (Tufts ’20), join him in celebrating this appointment.

"While we will miss the Deveaux family on Williams Hill, we know that Fairfield Country Day will flourish under Jon’s leadership,” said Headmaster Bill Philip.
