Fifth Former Performs in All-State Choir
Following his participation in the Northern Region Music Festival in November, Mike Riberdy ’18 auditioned in January for the Connecticut Music Educators Association All-State Music Festival and scored high enough to be invited to perform in the All-State Choir. The highly competitive audition included nearly a thousand students from the entire state of Connecticut.
The All-State Choir performed March 30 and April 1 at the Convention Center in Hartford, where Mike and other members of the choir sang five pieces from the Baroque, Romantic, Classical and Modern periods, including a Mendelssohn oratorio. “This was a tremendous honor for Mike to perform with many other incredible musicians from around the state,” said Westminster’s Director of Music, David Chrzanowski.
Mike is a member of Westminster’s Chamber Choir and Chorale, and was a lead in the winter musical.
