Fall Term Achievements Recognized

At an awards ceremony Dec. 3, students, faculty and staff were recognized for their contributions to numerous areas of school life during the fall term.

Headmaster Bill Philip welcomed everyone back from Thanksgiving vacation and cited achievements related to the summer technology program, WCLP, Community Service Day, SON, Church Street Eats, the John Hay Society, the Red Cross Blood Drive, charitable fundraising, evening coffee houses, Dramat, Dance Ensemble, the Chapel Gallery, student writers, Global Forum, student leadership and volunteer efforts, MSU, GSA, the Chapel Program, the Harvard-MIT Math Challenge and others.

“For all of us, students, faculty and staff, we are so fortunate to share this beautiful campus setting and each other’s company,” he said. “The opportunities that we enjoy every day would be the envy of so many in our troubled world. As we are reminded by our motto of Grit and Grace, our responsibility must be to seize these opportunities to improve ourselves and learn from each other, while also committing to make a difference for others who do not share the opportunities we enjoy, whether in our present or our future endeavors.”
