Parents and Family Weekend Awards Ceremony

Students were recognized for their spring 2015 academic achievements at an awards ceremony Oct. 31 during Parents and Family Weekend. Members of the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Quartet, Chamber Choir, Chorale and Dance Ensemble also gave performances.

Headmaster Bill Philip welcomed parents and family members to the ceremony saying, “Parents and Family Weekend remains one of the most exciting moments in the school year. I hope that all of you cherish this opportunity to spend a weekend on campus together with your children.” He explained that spring awards for continuing students are held until the fall so that the students can be recognized with their families present. He also gave some highlights from the summer and fall related to the summer online program for new students, Community Service Day, the September Culture Draw, recent presentations by alumni, the Westminster Teaching Symposium and Grandparents Day.

Director of Studies Bill Sistare then recognized students who earned Summus for the spring term.
