New Assistant Headmaster for Advancement Named

Westminster School Headmaster Bill Philip has announced the appointment of Ted Probert ’80 to assume leadership of the Alumni and Development Office as assistant headmaster for advancement beginning July 1. Ted’s wife, Andi, and his two children, Campbell, who is a junior at Dartmouth, and Tanner, who is a senior at Landmark School, will be joining him on campus.

While a student at Westminster, Ted served as president of the Sixth Form and junior prefect as well as president of the John Hay Society. Upon graduating from Westminster, he attended Duke University, where he earned a B.A. in history as well as Certification in Secondary School Education.

Ted’s affinity for Westminster extends to his family, since his sister and brother are both graduates, his father served on the Board of Trustees in the 1980s, and he has a niece who just graduated and a nephew currently enrolled.

Presently, Ted is director of institutional advancement at Phillips Exeter Academy, where he has been a member of the administration since 2002. Previously, he served as director of development and alumni affairs at Kent School, and associate director of development at The Lawrenceville School. He has also served as a lieutenant colonel with the United States Marine Corps Reserve with deployments in the western Pacific and Iraq.

“No matter the venue, Ted embraces a passion for building personal relationships, team development and community,” said Headmaster Philip. “Personally, I am gratified and delighted that Ted has chosen this time to return to his alma mater in order to join us in advancing this school.”
