Jazz Vocalist Dana Lauren to Perform April 4

Jazz vocalist Dana Lauren will give a performance at Westminster School April 4 as a part of the school’s “Friday Nights in Gund,” a series of readings, lectures and concerts held at Westminster during the academic year that is underwritten in part by The Ensign Bickford Foundation.

At 23, Lauren has already performed at some of the nation’s most prestigious jazz venues, recorded two albums and has graduated from Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship. In 2010, she was a semifinalist in the Thelonious Monk International Vocal Jazz Competition. Her most recent CD, “It’s You Or No One,” is a collection of standards with fresh arrangements and classic swing.

Lauren’s Westminster performance is free and open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Gund Reading Room of Armour Academic Center. Refreshments will be served after the presentation and ample parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to the Armour Academic Center.
