Dramat to Present “Into the Woods”

Westminster’s Dramat Association will present the musical “Into the Woods” Feb. 14 - 16 in the school’s Werner Centennial Center. The performances will take place Feb. 14 and 15 at 8 p.m., and Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. They are free and open to the public with general admission seating.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and based on the book by James Lapine, the production takes everyone’s favorite Brothers Grimm storybook characters and brings them together for a timeless, yet relevant, modern classic.

The story follows a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions haunt them later with disastrous results. “Into the Woods” is produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Parking will be available in the lot adjacent to Armour Academic Center.
