Three Sign to Play in Div. 1 Programs

MO KM
Rachel Monroe, Kat Pate and Brooke Wolejko, honors students in the Class of 2014, have been standouts academically and athletically during their years at Westminster.

Monroe, from Southwick, Mass., is a stellar shortstop who has helped the Martlets capture a second Class A Western New England Championship in three years.  She was selected to the 2013 New England All-Star Team and has twice been recognized with All-Western New England honors.  Monroe is a captain in both softball and basketball at Westminster, and has been the starting goalie for a top ranked varsity soccer team.  She will attend Bryant University in 2014.

Pate, from Saco, Maine, has been a superb defensive player on a Westminster ice hockey team that is consistently ranked as one of the premiere programs in New England.  She was a key part of the team's 2010-11 Class A Championship and will be a captain of the hockey team this winter.  In addition, Pate has been a standout goalkeeper for Westminster's First Field Hockey team, and is an excellent outfielder for first softball. Next fall, she will attend the University of Vermont.

Wolejko, from South Windsor, Conn., has been one of the top ice hockey goalies in New England during her high school years.  She helped the team achieve the 2010-11 Class A New England Championship and three consecutive tournament seedings since her Third Form year. Both she and Kat Pate also played on a National Championship travel hockey team for Assabet Valley.  Wolejko will be a Westminster ice hockey captain this winter.  During other seasons, she has also made great contributions to the success of the Martlet field hockey and softball programs.  Wolejko will attend St. Lawrence University.
