Second Boys’ Soccer
In a battle against a very talented Hotchkiss team, the Martlets managed a 2-0 win. Both teams played a very even first half, only having one shot at net each. The second half proved to have a little more offense and exciting soccer. Jayme Stepto '16 continued his scoring streak as he put home a nice crossing pass from Miller Guth '15. Westminster was able to counterattack off a miss hit goal kick which resulted in Stepto slotting a through ball for Sam Dardani '14 who beat the visiting goalie charging off his line. Westminster goalies Will Leathers '17 and Will Brophy '15 combined for the five-save shutout.

Third Boys’ Soccer
The Third Boys' Soccer team hosted a strong Hotchkiss squad and put on a great performance, coming away with a 1-0 victory on a goal by Mac McCormick '16 in the second half. There was a mad scramble in front of the Hotchkiss goal with a number of players having a good chance to put home a rebound before McCormick made a great individual effort to finish the game-winning goal.  The defense was stellar, limiting the Hotchkiss scoring opportunities.

First Girls’ Soccer
After a disappointing tie against Taft, the Martlets came out strong against Berkshire, scoring all three goals in the first half. The girls played possession soccer incredibly well and were in control for the entire first half. Megan Richard '15 had a goal and an assist. Mary French '15 also scored as did Laura Moore '14 off of a direct kick. The Bears scored with a couple of minutes remaining, but it was too little too late for the visitors.

Second Girls’ Soccer
The Martlets added two more wins to their undefeated record, notching shutouts over Taft and Berkshre. Against the Rhinos, Emma Merlin '16 and Katherine Eckerson ’16 each scored twice and added assists. Kiley Loureiro '15 and McKenna Burelle ’17 contributed to the six-goal tally. Eugenia Naamon '14 was aggressive in goal to earn the shutout. Hosting the Bears at home, the Martlets maintained control throughout the game. Eckerson and Merlin again scored twice with Lexi Organ '16 and Paige Brackett '16 rounding out the offensive total.

First Field Hockey
In a big week for the Martlets, they won on the road against Taft and then hosted their “Pink Game” under the lights against Berkshire. The Black and Gold took control right away against the Rhinos. Kelcie Finn '14, Shannon Cherpak '14 (2), Brooke Wolejko '14, and Catherine Crawley '16 all contributed to the 5-1 win. Kat Pate '14 was a force in goal throughout the game. Again the Martlets came out strong against the Bears, scoring quickly to set the tone. Wolejko found the net twice in the first half and Finn added another. The Bears did not quit and scored a couple of their own but the Black and Gold sealed the win with goals from Cherpak and Finn. Kat Pate '14 recorded three saves in goal while Sarah Migliori '16 finished the game with one save.

Second Field Hockey
Westminster had great games against Taft and Berkshire this week. In a tough battle with the Rhinos, the Martlets were unable to score until the end of the first half when Lily Mahoney '17 put the team up 1-0. Eliza Mell '16 scored twice in the second to extend the lead. Goalie Hadley Smith '15 made key saves to keep Westminster ahead. At home on Hovey field, the Bears also proved to be a challenging opponent. After a few opportunities early in the half, Westminster was able to get on the board with a goal by AlainaBisson '15. The Bears scored soon after but Bisson struck again, to make it 2 to 1 for the half. Despite many corners in the second half, the Martlets were unable to extend their lead but they held on for the win due to great defense by many including Evie Pope '16.
