Jon Deveaux Named to Board of Trustees of SSATB

The Secondary School Admission Test Board (SSATB) has announced the appointment of Westminster’s Director of Admissions Jon Deveaux to its board of trustees. SSATB is a nonprofit organization that administers the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) and is dedicated to supporting admission professionals around the world, while advancing and adding value to the private school admission process for schools, students and families.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be named to the Board of Trustees of SSATB,” said Jon. “It's an exciting and challenging time in the organization's history, and I look forward to working with the talented and committed educators and professionals on the board.”

Jon is in his 20th year at Westminster, after spending the first five years of his career at Cheshire Academy. While he focuses most of his attention on his role as the director of admissions at Westminster, he also teaches one section of AP psychology. He coached boys’ soccer at Westminster for 19 years and continues to play both soccer and hockey in adult leagues. He received his B.A. from Williams College and completed his graduate studies at the Leadership Academy Program at the Klingenstein Center of Teachers College, Columbia University.

Jon is one of five members of the independent school admission community appointed to the board to begin terms in May. He will be joined by Susan Booth, currently senior director of strategic initiatives at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and new director of professional growth and learning, the Online School for Girls, beginning May 1; Dallas Joseph, chief financial officer, Baylor School, Tenn.; John Kerney, head of school, The Winchendon School, Mass.; and Booth Kyle, director of admissions and financial aid, Lakeside School, Wash.
