Boys’ Swimming and Diving
Westminster Boys’ Swimming and Diving successfully defended its home turf despite a late charge from Kingswood Oxford by a score of 93-90. The team started with a win in the 200 Medley Relay, swum by Herbert Cheng ’13, Toby Casper ’14, Henry Chou ’14 and Drew Poling ’13. Tariq Keshavji ’16 surged late in the 200 Free to place second with a best time, and Chou placed second in the 200 IM with his fastest time this year. Casper and Poling went 2-3 respectively in the 50 Free. Jimmy Guiliano ’13, Jack Norman ’16 and James Hsieh ’14 placed 1-2-3 in the diving event. In the second half of the meet, the boys dug in and held onto their lead as KO slowly chipped away. Chou won the 100 Fly in a lifetime best time, and Travis Percy ’14 won the 100 Free. Cheng finished second in the backstroke race, with Poling cranking out a fast final lap to pass a KO competitor to take third. Casper swam a season best time in the 100 Breast to win that event. The Martlets had a five-point lead heading into the final relay, so they split their teams to ensure a second and third place finish, which allowed them to win the meet.
