Fall Term Achievements Recognized

At an awards ceremony Dec. 1, members of the Westminster community were acknowledged for their achievements during the fall term across all areas of school activities.

Headmaster Bill Philip welcomed everyone back from the Thanksgiving vacation and talked about the memorable weather-related events of the fall. He then praised the Sixth Form for its “buoyant enthusiasm and commitment” and its leadership. He also highlighted achievements related to Community Service Day, the Friday Night Readings and performances, the Westminster Teaching Symposium, the Richard Miller Invitational Cross-Country Meet, First Field Hockey, First Football, the Parents’ Weekend concert, the Northern Region Music Festival, Peter Tang’s ’12 weekly math problems, John Sandoval’s visual literacy postings and Dramat’s production of “Eurydice.”

“The breadth of involvement in our school community distinguishes Westminster School students,” he said. “Students don’t enroll here to specialize in just one activity. Instead, at Westminster School, students seek to stretch themselves and, in the process, often discover unrealized talents, while also enriching our school community.”
