Sixth Former Wins National Merit Scholarship Award

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced that Sixth Former Hannah Ford has been selected as the winner of a corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship award. The name of the scholarship is the National Merit Aon Corporation Scholarship, and it is sponsored by the Aon Foundation.

Hannah was among the first group of winners in the 56th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 1,000 distinguished high school seniors have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards financed by about 200 corporations, company foundations and other business organizations.

Scholars were selected from students who advanced to the Finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition and met criteria of their scholarship sponsors.

During Hannah’s Westminster career, she has earned high honors and honors each term and was named an AP Scholar with Honor. She is very active in Dramat, sings in the school’s choirs, and is a member of the Student Music Organization and Improv Club. She also played junior varsity softball for two years and is active in the youth group of her church. In the fall, she plans to attend Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she will be studying acting.
