Students Visit France

On March 4, nine students and French teacher and Head of the Language Department Sara Deveaux left for two weeks of travel and homestay in France. The students spent three full days discovering Paris, walking from Notre Dame through the Latin Quarter, taking a guided tour of Le Louvre and visiting the Musée d’Orsay, discovering Montmartre and the artists’ quarter, and ending the three days with a wonderful dinner in the Eiffel Tower.

From Paris, they took the TGV to Avignon and spent three days discovering parts of southern France. They toured the Palais des Papes, the arène in Arles, went horseback riding in St Marie les Bains, toured the atelier de Cezanne in Aix-en-Provence, visited the ruins of the chateau in Les Baux de Provence and then headed back to Paris for a six-day homestay outside of Paris in Argenteuil, France. “We are very grateful to many who made this trip possible, including Headmaster Philip, the Class of ’42 Fund, the Wilde Fund and various parents,” said Mme Deveaux.
