The Cleveland Browns have promoted defensive lineman Brian Sanford ’06 to the active roster from the practice squad. He will wear number 70.
Originally signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 17, 2010, after attending the team’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, Brian has spent the entire season on Cleveland’s practice squad. He appeared in 43 games at Temple University (2006-09), where he posted 86 tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles and blocked one field goal.
The 6-2, 280-pounder is a native of Hartford, Conn., where he attended Hartford Public High School, participated in the Crossroads Cooperative Learning Program directed by Westminster faculty member Todd Eckerson, and Westminster School as a postgraduate.
