At the annual Halloween costume dance Oct. 30 sponsored by Serving Our Neighbors (SON), Westminster students brought canned food items, with each form competing to win a "duds day” by contributing the most cans. The Fifth Form won the competition, and the approximate 600 food items collected were donated to the Simsbury food bank at Eno Memorial Hall, which is operated by Simsbury Social Services.
SON leader, Sarah Ogden '11, was a driving force behind organizing this year's dance. Other SON members who helped with various set-up, canned food collection and clean-up necessities included Kathryn Griffith '11, Katherine Cheng '11, Katie Hill '11, Margaret Berry '11, Ronald Yeung '13, Michelle Aiyanyor '12, Isha Garg '12, Tiaira Myers '11, Mallory Mason '11, Emily Teschner '12 and Atesha Gifford '12.
