Town of Simsbury First Selectman Mary Glassman honored Headmaster Graham and Carol Cole at the May 10 Board of Selectmen meeting, expressing the board’s and the town’s gratitude to the Cole’s for their contributions to Simsbury during their 17 years at Westminster.
Through a Town of Simsbury Proclamation, Mrs. Glassman expressed the town’s appreciation for the Coles’ involvement in town, including Carol’s 10 years serving on the Planning Commission and the many hours she devoted to organizations in the surrounding area; Graham’s leadership at Westminster that increased prominence for the school and, therefore, the town; their leadership in guiding Westminster’s outreach and community service agenda, ensuring students and faculty alike take part in their community; and the reputation of Westminster students as an impressive group of young people who are well mannered and respectful due to the Coles’ influence.
The proclamation declared May 10, 2010, as “Carol and Graham Cole Day.” Upon receiving these accolades, Carol thanked the board and town, expressing how wonderful it has been for she and Graham to spend the past 17 years in Simsbury and how they would greatly miss the town and its people.
