"Little Shop of Horrors" on Stage at Westminster

Westminster Dramat will present the comical, mysterious musical “Little Shop of Horrors” beginning Feb. 20 in the Werner Centennial Center. Performances will take place Feb. 20 and Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. Complimentary tickets are available at the door for each performance, with doors opening 30 minutes prior to showtime.

Composed by Alan Menken and written by Howard Ashman, the musical is set in Mushnik's "Skid Row" flower shop where Seymour Krelborn, a nerd, orphan and florist, lives and works. He has a crush on Audrey, his fellow co-worker, but Audrey is dating Orin, a sadistic dentist who loves to inflict pain.

One day, just after a total eclipse of the sun, Seymour discovers an odd plant at the Chinese market. He buys it for $1.95 and names it Audrey II. While caring for the plant, Seymour discovers Audrey II has a rather unique appetite; the plant seems to have a craving for fresh blood.

Will Seymour find love with Audrey? What will he do about Audrey II? Come see Dramat's production of "Little Shop of Horrors" to find out.
