Fifth Form College Day Feb. 21

The Westminster School College Counseling Office will host a Fifth Form College Day Saturday, Feb. 21 for Fifth Formers and their parents as an introduction to the college process. This informative morning will offer both students and parents a full overview of the college process at Westminster as well as some insight into the overall climate of college admissions.

The College Office is thrilled to have three college admissions professionals participating in a panel discussion this year:

•John W. Birney Jr., Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Johns Hopkins University;
•Andrew N. Carter, Alumni Admissions Coordinator at the College of the Holy Cross;
•Jami Silver, Assistant Dean of Admissions at Wesleyan University.

The panelists will focus on current trends in college admissions and will provide insight into the "behind the scenes" work of an admissions committee. There will also be ample time for questions.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Fearn Hall in Cushing Hall, the main administration building. The formal program will begin at 9 a.m. and finish by 12:15 p.m. For those interested in information on athletic recruiting, please register in Fearn Hall at 8 a.m. Peter Newman will be offering a short seminar at 8:15 a.m. in Lounsbury Auditorium.

This is a mandatory event for all Fifth Formers, whose parents should have received an invitation by mail in early December. Those wanting more information about the program should contact the College Office directly.
