Alumni Gather for Head of the Charles Regatta

More than 30 Westminster alumni visited the Westminster hospitality tent in Reunion Village at the 2008 Head of the Charles Regatta on Oct. 19 in Boston. The tent’s riverfront setting along the Charles River just across from the Harvard Boathouse allowed Westminster’s faithful to brave the damp breeze flowing off the Massachusetts Bay and to see up close some of the top teams in high school and collegiate rowing.

The day began just before lunch and continued well into the late afternoon, with the final race starting just after 4 p.m. Throughout the day, alumni dropped by the tent to enjoy hot coffee and cider, to watch the competition, to hear about what’s happening on the Hill and to reconnect with one another. Eddie Scott ’00, who had spent the prior day with former faculty member and former Miss Porter’s crew coach Brian Ford, shared with his schoolmates the rules and guidelines governing a crew race.
