Grit & Grace in Greenwich

In our second "Grit & Grace in Greenwich" tailgate reception, Westminster parents and alumni turned out in great force to show their support for Black & Gold in the annual Brunswick vs. Westminster lacrosse game. Despite the windy and damp evening, Martlet supporters were robustly positioned around Brunswick's field. Current and past parents met alumni and mingled during halftime, viewing a scoreboard favoring Brunswick 4-3. Knowing full well that it was going to be close until the end, the tone was cautious and nerves were on call. Many parents and alumni felt compelled to return to their earlier viewing spots on the sideline, choosing to enjoy refreshments after the game.

After both teams nearly doubled their goals in the second half, Westminster continued to fight, and the one we were waiting for finally happened: Harry Kutner created a defensive scramble by "pretzelling" his defenseman and Harry Radovich nailed the game-winner in a swarm of defenders on the crease with 32 seconds to play.

Following the field-side reception after the game, parents and alumni retreated to the Gingerman on Greenwich Avenue to continue the celebration and visit with each other.
