Ben Smith '06 Earns Freshman Scholar-Athlete Award
Boston College forward Ben Smith ’06 earned the Outstanding Freshman Scholar-Athlete Award at Boston College’s All-Sports Banquet May 4. The Scholar-Athlete Awards are presented to one male and one female student-athlete in each class based on a combination of grade-point average and athletic achievement.

Ben, who is enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences with an undeclared major, will complete his freshman year later this month. In 2006-07, Ben totaled 18 points – 10 goals and eight assists – and played in all 42 games. He earned the team’s Bernie Burke Outstanding Freshman Award.
At Westminster in 2005-06, Ben earned All-New England first-team honors as a Sixth Former center.
