Fifth Form College Day on Sat., Feb. 17, to include Athletic Recruitment Overview

KM
All Fifth Formers and their parents are invited to attend the session Feb. 17. Registration will begin promptly at 8 a.m. in Fearn Hall, Cushing. No advanced RSVP is necessary.

The session will last 45 minutes, starting with a brief overview of the college athletic recruiting process and presentation of related statistics. Peter will then lead a discussion on the challenges that confront aspiring college athletes and open the floor for a “Q and A” discussion.  The session will likely touch on the following topics:
    Exposure and evaluation
    Prospect vs. recruit
How interested are they? How interested are you?
Choosing the right school, program, and coach
    Scholarships and the NLI

In his role as associate director of college counseling, Peter serves as athletic recruitment coordinator. He also teachers Spanish and coaches the Second Boys’ Basketball team and the First Boys’ Lacrosse team. After graduating from Westminster in 1980, Peter earned degrees from Colby College and Middlebury College. He joined the Westminster faculty in 1987.
