Legendary Rallies

The Martlets rolled down Highway 84 to take on the Taft Rhinos on a beautiful spring day. We were delayed slightly on arrival as another match against Loomis needed to wrap up. But we were playing tennis soon enough. Although we lost to the Rhinos, the boys seemed optimistic about their improvements, especially their consistency. Kimi Weng '24 played an excellent (and long) match against Taft's top seed, taking nearly every game to deuce. Some of their rallies were legendary. Despite losing, Harvey DeMovick '24 kept the pressure on, falling in most games only narrowly. Ethan McQueeney '27, making his match debut, and Colin Daly '27 did the same in the last seed doubles match. But the point of the day goes to Paolo Wan '27 and James Teng '27, who played a good doubles match, winning 8-4. Taft was a good team, and we made them work for the win. We travel to Hall High for our next match this coming Wednesday.
