Controlling the Game

Westminster hit the road for their fourth consecutive game, crossing over state lines to play the Trinity Pawling Lions. The Martlets controlled the game from the start, scoring six goals in the first half and holding the Pride scoreless until the final seconds of the second quarter. Trinity Pawling added a second goal in the third quarter before Westminster answered with three more goals while shutting down the Pride’s offense until the final whistle. Jordan Pham ’27 had his best game of the season, playing the first three quarters in net and making five saves before Derrick Logan ’27 stepped in to make another four saves in the fourth quarter. With the two regular faceoff guys out, Tyler Ungerman ’26 stepped up and earned several wins at the faceoff dot. Corbin Simons ’25 had the highlight of the day, racing the full length of the field to score a rare long-pole goal. Cayden Darnowski ’25 continued to be dominant at attack, scoring five goals. While the Martlets are happy with their performance, they don’t have much time to enjoy their third victory of the season because Cardigan Mountain, a perennial lacrosse powerhouse, is coming to Simsbury on Monday.
