A Successful Offensive Performance

Westminster traveled to Litchfield County to face off against Salisbury in their third of four consecutive road games. The Martlets spent much of Tuesday’s practice working on clearing and controlling the ball in the offensive zone and their efforts paid off with their most successful offensive game of the season. The Martlets jumped out to an early lead and the defense, led by strong performances from Corbin Simons ’25 and Brooks Berthiaume ’27, worked hard to control the fast and physical Crimson Knights squad. The score was 6-2 at the half before Salisbury found some momentum early in the third quarter, cutting the Martlet’s lead to two. The Martlets, to their credit, regained control and kept their poise amidst the game’s heightened intensity and physicality. Cayden Darnowski ’25 had his second four-goal game of the season, using his size and stick skills to finish around the net. Attackman Matt Gregorski ’27 netted two goals and midfielder Finn Williams ’26 added two more. Adrien Dellaert ’25 exemplified the team’s selfless spirit by moving from defense to midfielder this week, learning the team’s offense in just one day and playing smart and tough lacrosse in his debut at the midfield. The team will look to recover and recharge after another hard-fought contest in preparation for Saturday’s road trip to Trinity Pawling.
