Reduced Squad Leads to Defeat

The 2024 Track and Field season began with a tri-meet against Suffield Academy and Cheshire Academy. Going into the season, I made the team aware of the challenges they faced as a result of reduced numbers on the squad. However, we agreed that the theme for the season would be individual progress and success. Taking that message to heart, the team started strong with inspiring performances. The day began with the girls' 4x100 meter relay team maintaining their two-year undefeated regular season streak. In fact, the team of Adrienne Hall ‘25, Blessing Kieh ‘24, Sarah Lenox ‘24, and Elysse Cumberland ‘24 ran an impressive 49:10. Individually, Adrienne Hall ‘25 claimed a victory in the 400m dash with a personal best time of 61.90. The team also had strong performances Emme Pacheo-Hager ‘25, who won the Discus and ran an impressive anchor leg in the 4x400m relay. The next meet against Choate Rosemary Hall and Sacred Heart will be a treat because it will mark the first time facing Sacred Heart. The team will need two good days of practice to prepare for our opponents.
