Thrilling Game

In a thrilling Ultimate Frisbee match, Westminster emerged victorious with a final score of 13-9 against Watkinson. The match showcased intense action and skillful plays from both sides. Westminster demonstrated exceptional teamwork, strategic throws, and precise catches throughout the game, allowing them to go on a few critical runs  and secure the win. Despite Watkinson's determined efforts and spirited performance, they couldn't quite match the consistency and execution of the Martlets Overall, it was an exciting and competitive match that showcased the athleticism and sportsmanship of both teams. Henry Warner ‘25 got the scoring started with a great toss to Alex Wood ‘25. Wat then answered with three goals and the Martlets trailed 3-1. Warner then took over. He hit Nathan Lee ‘24 and then Dane Moliterno ‘24 and then Moliterno found Lee again as Westminster took a 4-3 lead. But Wat would answer and take the lead 5-4. Quinn Pine ‘25 then helped lead the Martlets with a four goal run: Pine found Declan Cody ‘25. Wood then hit Pine,  Lee hit Wood, and Moliterno found Warner to give Westminster an 8-5 lead. Wat responded with 4 unanswered goals and the Martlets trailed 9-8 in the second half. Moliterno and Wood then took control of the game. Wood hit Pine to tie the game at 9. Moliterno then found Pine deep in the endzone. Leading 10-9, Westminster finished strongly. Moliterno hit Pine, Wood hit Warner and then Wood found Cody to give the Martlets a 12-9 lead. As time wound down, Moliterno tossed the disc to the endzone and then four players tried to catch or smack it. When the dust settled, Anthony DiBartolomeo ‘25 found the disc in his hands. Trailing 13-9, Wat ended the game as the rain fell hard. This was a  well-played game by both teams.
