A Dominant Display

In a dominant display of skill and teamwork, Westminster secured a convincing victory over Deerfield in an Ultimate Frisbee match with a final score of 13-3. Right from the start, Westminster showcased their superior athleticism and strategic prowess, swiftly gaining control of the game. Throughout the match, the Martlets demonstrated exceptional throwing accuracy, adeptly maneuvering the Frisbee down the field with precision passes and clever plays. Their defense was equally formidable, effectively pressuring Deefield's offense and forcing turnovers with well-timed interceptions and tight marking. AJ Jimenez ‘26 was a defensive machine with  several knock downs. The Martlet offense was clicking on all cylinders. Nathan Lee ‘24 got the scoring started with a pass to Derrick Rhodes ‘25. Less than a minute later, Alex Wood ‘25 found a diving Austin Black ‘24 in the endzone. Jimenez then found Black for his second score. It was Black then making a beautiful toss to Henry Warner ‘25. After Deerfield scored to make it 4-1, Mark Richardson ‘25 hit Quinn Pine ‘25 and then Declan Cody ‘25 found Pine on a spectacular seam route. It was then Wood to Warner and Wood to Dane Moliterno ‘24. With the Martlets leading 8-1, the teams took a 5 min break. Then Simon Stambaugh ‘26 introduced himself to Deerfield with two assists in a row. First to Augie Barrett ‘24 and then to Hannah Maltby ‘26. Pine then found Richardson and Lee hit Rhodes to increase the Martlet lead to 12-1. Deerfield scored and then Moliterno hit Warner for a 13-1 lead. Deerfield scored the final 2 points and the Martlets won 13-3. Westminster left the field triumphant, marking another memorable victory in their Ultimate Frisbee journey.
