Martlets Drop Opener on the Road

On a cold, rainy day, the birds headed North to take on Deerfield. Fairfield commit Jack Sheldon '24 got the start on the mound and threw 4 solid innings, exiting with a 2-1 lead. The Martlets could not hold that lead, however, and surrendered the lead in the 5th. The boys threatened in the top of the 7th, loading the bases with nobody out, but could not get the big hit and fell 4-3. Easton Masse '25 lead the offense with 3 hits.
