Martlets Fall to Taft
The Martlets came into the day extremely excited and in good spirits because it is almost Nationals time and because it was senior day! The entire team pulled together so well to make sure the seniors felt special today with flowers, personalized messages for each senior and lots and lots of food to eat! The Martlets were going into the match against Taft knowing how strong they are as a team but not letting that get the best of us. Everyone played extremely well and fought hard for their points on court. Emily Fonner ‘26, and Natasha Johnson were able to get a game off of their opponents today which is huge against such a strong team. Emily’s drives and Natasha’s serves were something to watch and learn from today. Chase Hager ‘26 wasn’t able to steal a game from her opponent but had the best footwork and speed she has had all season. It was great to watch the improvement in real time. Everyone overall played very well today and displayed the amazing Westy grit and grace they always get complimented on. We are heading to Philadelphia this weekend for Nationals!
