Martets Fall to Eaglebrook
The Martlets welcomed the Eagles of Eaglebrook to the New Gymnasium. A youthful starting lineup of Micahel Basich ‘26, Ethan Hernandez ‘26, Draven Chung ‘26, and Finn Williams ‘26 coupled with the seniority of Jin Lee ‘24 had the Black and Gold into a good rhythm from the opening tip on a Hill Holiday. Draven had four points early of his six for the day off some good passes from Lee into the paint. Will Whiting ‘24 added two three-pointers and Finn Williams ‘26 had a strong drive to the basket, but the Martlets ran into the Talons of an Eaglebrook team that played athletically, and hit shots. Westminster came out of the locker room trailing 33-18 and the pressure of Eaglebrook tired out the Black and Gold as the second half waned. Logan Sun ‘24 provided some quality minutes off the bench with steals and a willingness to go for fifty-fifty loose balls, and Basich ‘26 had four hustle points on the interior in the second half. Eaglebrook posed a challenge on a Hill Holiday, but the Martlets have the opportunity to fly up I-91 to Northampton to take on Williston as part of a new page tomorrow.
