Martlets Defeat Gunn

The girls opened this final part of the season with a solid victory over the Highlanders from Frederick Gunn School. Every member of the team contributed to the victory. Lauren Neuman ‘25 started the game by scoring the first five points. The Martlets took a 13-0 lead before the Highlanders sank a pair of free throws. Eva Rodgers ‘25 was outstanding on defense and offense and her hot shooting allowed Westminster to take a 24-8 lead into halftime. The Martlets had many opportunities to score, but the basket was unforgiving today. Sophie McKenna ‘27 finally warmed up the net with a couple of three pointers and Westminster extended the lead in the 3rd quarter. Gianna Monaco ‘27 and Kaitlyn Buda ‘27 held the lead and caused several turnovers in the 2nd half. This was a team effort and Westminster earned a terrific win. The girls return to action tomorrow against Cheshire Academy.
