Martlets Defeat Ethel Walker
The Martlets were able to secure another win 7-0 against Ethel Walker this weekend. Most matches ended fairly quickly in 3 except for Alice Tao ‘24 at number 5 and Natasha Johnson ‘27 at number 7 both had to buckle down and take the win in 4. Alice Tao was playing an opponent who was showing that she would not go down without a fight, and fight she did. They were well matched and played pretty similarly. With the support of other Martlets and her teammates watching, Alice was able to win the fourth game 14-12. Natasha Johnson lost her edge slightly in the second game but was able to quickly get back to her tactical playing with some great advice from her teammates and additional support from those watching and cheering. She was able to win 11-1 in the fourth game with impressive serves and rails. The Martlets will head on the road for a tough match against Hotchkiss on Wednesday before the long weekend.
