Martlets Fall to Greens Farms

The Martlets traveled to Westport and faced a talented group of Dragons from Greens Farms Academy. The Dragons started with some hot shooting and held on for the victory. The game started with both teams shooting well. Midway through the first quarter, the Dragons lead 13-9. At the end of the first quarter, Westminster was down 22-13. Eva Rodgers ‘25 and Emme Pacheco-Hager ‘25 kept the Martlets within shouting distance. At the break, Dragons led 38-22. Haley Cramer ‘24 and Lauren Neuman ‘25 were excellent on defense and caused several turnovers. Delia Lockwood ‘26 also played about 1 foot taller than her actual height! Westminster began the second half with a 13-3 run. Trailing 29-41, the Martlets got several good looks, but couldn’t get the ball to go through the net. Green Farms was able to make some shots and pull away for the victory. The girls played well in the second half and held Greens Farms to 20 points. The Martlets go into the long weekend and return against Gunn on Wednesday.
