In a very competitive game, the Rhinos were able to hit some free throws down the stretch, and beat the Martlets by 10 points. Both teams played excellent defense. At the end of the first quarter, the score was.6-5 in favor of Taft. The rim remained sealed in the second quarter, until Taft made a few shots late. In the final two minutes, Haley Cramer ‘24 hit two big three-pointers, and Taft lead.22-13 at the break. Emme Pacheco Hager ‘25 led Westminster in the third period. She had several blocks, key rebounds, free throws, and a few buckets. After a three-point basket by Lauren Neuman ‘25, Westminster trailed Taft, 23-26. The Rhinos went on a 6-0 run,  but then Eva Rodgers ‘25 made a three-pointer and Delia Lockwood ‘26 had a contested shot go through the net. 32-29 was as close as the Martlets would get. The girls return to action tomorrow versus Hopkins at home.
