Martlets Fall to Williston

Though we didn’t pull out a win in Easthampton, it was a great day on the courts for the martlets. Due to illness, every girl was playing at least one spot up on the ladder if not two and faced that challenge with determination. Kitty Olson ‘27 and Caroline Breslav ‘26 both were victorious for our top seven. Kitty did a fantastic job hustling for the ball, showing great improvement from her matches before Winter Vacation. Though Caroline lost her first game, after some thoughtful coaching from Sofiia Kondratiuk ‘26, she realized that she was truly capable of getting to some of the harder shots and won the next three games. Harriet Leventhal ’26 and Lulu Hurley ‘27 were also able to pull out wins in our exhibition matches. Jacqueline Wu ‘24 showed some incredible leadership stepping up to play at the top spot for the first time in her Westy career and took her opponent to a fifth game. Sofiia Kondratiuk ‘26 had an exciting though exhausting match and is now the queen of the corner shot - her aim is impeccable! Special thank you to Lulu Hurley ‘26 and Teagan Lynch ‘26 who played twice to ensure that every wildcat had an opportunity to play.
