Martlets Fall to K-O

In a tough defensive ball game, the Wyverns came out on top. The game started with Westminster getting beat in the back court by the K-O press. Kingswood led 9-0 before Haley Cramer ‘24 got the Martlets going.The 1st quarter would end with K-O on top 14-9. The 2nd quarter belonged to the Martlets. Emme Pacheco-Hager ‘25 took over and led Westminster on an 11-2 run. The Martlets led 20-16 at the break. Lauren Neuman ‘25 was outstanding on the defensive end and the game was close throughout the 2nd half. The 3rd quarter ended with the Wyverns on top 31-28. Gritty play from Gianna Monaco ‘27 kept the game close. Free throws from Cramer got the score to 31-30. The basket then closed for the Martlets. Although they had several good looks, Westminster could not get anything going. The game ended with a 7-0 run by K-O. The Martlets return to battle tomorrow at Canterbury.
