Martlets Fall to Choate

Against a very talented Choate team, the Martlets held tough. In the end, Choate pulled away, but it was never easy. Westminster fought hard and played their best game of the season. The first half was a low-scoring close affair. Choate threw in a 3 pointer at the buzzer to take a seven point lead into the break. Choate would add to the lead in the second half, but Westminster would hang around. Led by Delia Lockwood ‘26, the Martlet defense suffocated and confused the Wild Boars. Lockwood played at least six inches taller than her actual height. She rebounded and deflected passes throughout the game. Along with her teammates, Lockwood was able to get Choate to turn the ball over, but the Martlets could not capitalize on offense. Haley Cramer ‘24 and Lauren Neuman ‘25 were the toughest players on the floor tonight. They disrupted the Choate offense and kept the Martlet offense under control. Westminster had several good looks, but the rim was sealed. Eva Rodgers ‘25 was a force on both ends of the floor tonight. In her best outing of the year, she hit several key jumpshots and came up with many loose balls on defense. Lilly Murphy ‘25 rebounded well and played hard against the taller Boars. The team returns to action on Friday against K-O.
