Martlets Fall to Ethel Walker

Westminster opened play in the Ethel Walker Holiday Tournament with a game against the host school. After a close first period, EWS was able to open up a lead in the second period. The 3rd and 4th periods were more even, but the Martlets could not get close enough. Emme Pacheco-Hager ‘25 found her offensive game tonight and Haley Cramer ‘24 played an excellent all-around game. Gritty defense and solid rebounding kept the game close for the first 12 minutes, but EWS had some hot shooters and a very good post player. Lauren Newman ‘25 and Delia Lockwood ‘26 played stingy defense and led a gritty Martlet team. EWS was the best team the Martlets have played thus far and although it ended in a loss, the girls should be proud of their effort tonight.
