Martlets Defeat Choate

In an exhilarating match, the Westminster Junior Varsity field hockey team emerged victorious over Choate with a nail-biting score of 4-3. The game showcased outstanding teamwork and skill from both sides, but it was Westminster that struck first, with Alex Musser '26 netting the opening goal. Lizzie Muir '26 extended their lead with a beautifully executed goal, assisted by Musser, both of which were scored in an explosive first quarter, leaving the score at 2-0. Choate showed their resilience in the second quarter, managing to pull one back, making it 2-1 at halftime with the help of the defense and an outstanding showing today from Amara Graham '26. The third quarter saw Kitty Olson '27 adding another point for Westminster, thanks to an assist by Lizzie Muir '26, raising the score to 3-2. However, Choate fought back, narrowing the gap in the fourth quarter. It was the ever-reliable Lizzie Muir who sealed the victory for Westminster with a fourth goal, bringing the score to 4-3. Even after the final buzzer, Choate managed to score one last goal in a thrilling corner play, but Westminster emerged as the deserving winners with a final score of 4-3, celebrating a well-earned triumph.
