Soccer Player Jillian Gregorski '23 Named All-American

Girls’ soccer Jillian Gregorski ’23 was recently named an All-American by the United Soccer Coaches organization. Jillian becomes the first Martlet girls' soccer player to receive this honor since Kara Brown '96. Girls' varsity soccer tallied 14 wins on the year, with Jillian notching 16 goals and 29 assists.

According to soccerwire.com, Jillian and others named All-American will be recognized for their accomplishments at the All-America ceremony and reception, Jan. 22, 2022 at the Kansas City Convention Center.

Coach Kelly Wosleger, recently voted the Connecticut Soccer Coaches Association Girls Prep Soccer Coach of the Year, beamed with pride as she spoke about the honor: “I am so proud of Jillian for receiving the well-deserved honor of All-American. Jillian is a game changing player, and she makes others around her better. Not only is she incredible on the field, but she's also an amazing person who holds herself to a high standard in all aspects of school life. Westminster is a better place with Jillian here.”

When asked about what this award means to her, Jillian did not hesitate to credit her coaches and teammates.

“I am honored and humbled to be named All-American. Soccer is a significant part of my life and to receive this recognition for something that you love to do, is so gratifying. Coach Wosleger took a chance on me many years ago by encouraging me to come to Westminster and play. Since then, Coach Wosleger and Coach Lucas have challenged me and pushed me to be the best I could be, even when it was difficult at times. I would not be an All-American if it wasn't for them and for my amazing teammates who all played a role in accomplishing all the goals we set as a team this year. Our seniors were always there to lead us, motivate us and push us so we could be the best team we could be and I could be the best version of myself. Finally, thank you to all of the students and faculty who always came out to support us throughout the season. The amazing support from the Westminster community made this possible for me. Westminster is a special place, and I will be forever grateful to be a Martlet.”
