Sharing a School Day with Grandparents

More than 200 grandparents of current students visited Westminster Sept. 26 to spend the day with their grandchildren. After a welcome and presentation by Headmaster Bill Philip, grandparents attended classes and toured campus with their grandchildren. They also went to chapel, joined their grandchildren for lunch in Armstrong Dining Hall and attended athletic contests later in the day. For some grandparents, it was their first visit to Westminster, while for others, it was a chance to return to campus for the annual Grandparents Day.

Annette and Louis Tullo GP’22 visited their granddaughter Hailey Tullo ’22, a day student who is new to the school and liked sharing the school day with them. They went to French 1 and Global History and Society classes together and toured the library and dining hall. Louis said he was surprised by the size of the campus.

For Paula Mosca GP’20, it was her third time at Grandparents Day. She enjoyed attending AP English and Literature, and Pre-Calculus with her granddaughter Abigail Moss ’20. “It was very informative and great to see students in their classes,” she said. “It is a nice thing to do for everybody.”

Colleen and John Sadak G’22 attended Spanish 1 and Global History and Society with their granddaughter Margaret Sadek ’22. “Each child was so involved in participating,” said John. “I learned a lot.”

Carol-Ann and Tony Vorias GP’19 attended Human Anatomy and Physiology with grandson Jayce Lambert ’19, a new student. “The buildings are great and the kids are lucky to come to a place like this,” said Tony.

During the day, many grandparents and grandchildren posed for keepsake photos.
