    Head Coach: Shawn Desjardins

Westminster’s First Boys’ Baseball team has a long history characterized by gritty, multitalented athletes. Every spring, Martlet baseball players who are interested in getting their individual games into season-ready shape travel to Florida for pre-season practices and games. With a full schedule of competitive games, Westminster baseball players have an opportunity to play America's pastime at a level that yields many college athletes from throughout the Founders League each year.

Head Coach Shawn Desjardins and Assistant Coach Bill Sistare look for versatile players; pitchers who also look forward to the opportunity to step into the batter's box, outfielders who can move from playing down the lines to covering the expanse of grass in centerfield, and infielders who can go from playing second base over to shortstop in the middle of a contest are all valued. Athletes who are selflessly eager to fill the various and unique roles that make baseball such a complex game will, indeed, find a home on the Martlet squad.

The Westminster coaches are committed to helping each player work on a thorough package of skills. Using the indoor and outdoor batting tunnels and a wide variety of on field exercises and drills, it is the goal of the program to develop complete players. The young men hoping to play in college will be prepared to make the types of transitions necessary to compete at the next level after graduating from Westminster.

Once the season begins, the team becomes paramount. Every athlete who finds himself on the first team is asked to put the squad before the stats. The Martlets play to win and compete to the final pitch of each contest. On any Wednesday or Saturday afternoon in the spring, Marlet baseball players can be found on the diamond working toward victory.
