The Sherwin Health and Athletic Center (or SHAC, as it is affectionately know on the Hill) was dedicated in May 2003. Designed by Westminster alumnus and noted architect Graham Gund '59, and named for former Board of Trustees President Jack Sherwin '55, the 33,000 square foot center boasts an eight-lane pool, a Fitness Center and a student Health Center.

  • Fitness Center

The Fitness Center features a wide array of fitness machines, weights, exercise balls, and mats that are used for athletic training, rehabilitation and recreation. Individuals and teams use this bright, open space to work towards their fitness and strength goals.

The Student Health Center is a fully licensed infirmary. Meet the team.
  • Good Eats On The Hill

Healthy dining options, convenience and great taste are the hallmarks of Westminster’s food program. In addition to our own “in-house” dining services department and the student store, lounges and center, we bring fun and delicious foods to campus, from donut feeds, to ice cream socials, to pizza nights, cookouts and more.
  • Westminster Dining Services

Our full time food services director and executive chef work with their team to ensure we are meeting and exceeding student expectations, catering to the varied tastes and special needs of the campus community.
  • The Martlet's Nest

Opening at 10 a.m. each school day, the Martlet's Nest is abuzz with energy. Students find Westminster apparel, school supplies, and, most importantly, snacks to fuel them for the rest of the day. After purchasing their Sour Patch Kids or Pringles, students congregate in the Gitterman Family Student Lounge, which is next door to the Martlet's Nest. Filled with colorful chairs and tables, and broadcasting whichever TV show is requested, this café setting offers students a comfortable and relaxing place to hang out in between and after classes.
  • The Student Center

In addition to a wide variety of delivery options, including pizza, bagel sandwiches, sushi and burgers, students satisfy any anticipated late-night cravings at the Timken Student Center. Offering plenty of snacks, as well as foosball, a TV, and a newly-renovated outdoor seating area, the center is often a hub of activity after school and on the weekends. Students have been known to throw impromptu dance parties when students on campus rush over to join in.
