Frantic Pace

Following the alumni game at Jackson rink, Berkshire and Westminster faced off in what turned out to be a run-and-gun shootout with a frenzied pace. Westminster would strike first when Jagger LeClair ‘18 found the back of the net by getting to the paint and banging home a centering feed. Berkshire answered with three goals making it 3-1 by the first few minutes of the second period. Defense was limited on both sides of the puck, and both teams were able to get to the net consistently. Max Torrez ‘18 and Jake Monroe ‘20 each netted one to make the game 3-3 midway in the second, but Berkshire would score three more before the third. Tasso Housakos ‘18 netted one late in the second to make the score 6-4 at the end of the second period. The scoring didn’t stop, and Berkshire would make the game 7-4 before the Martlets stormed back. Late in the 3rd with the goalie pulled on the power play, Tasso Housakos ‘18 scored, and he also scored another to make the game 7-6 Berkshire with just over a minute to play. The game was frantic, as you can probably glean from this write-up, and Berkshire scored its final goal with under a minute left off a fumbled puck deep in the Martlet zone. With 14 goals on the day, it was the highest total of the year for Westminster. The Martlets look to right the ship on Wednesday against Gunnery at home.
