Essayist and Poet Joy Ladin Gave Reading Feb. 23

Essayist and poet Joy Ladin gave a reading at Westminster Feb. 23 as part of the Friday Nights at Westminster series. The student reader will be Adena Ajike ’19.
 
Ladin is the author of eight books, including “Through the Door of Life,” a memoir of gender transition that was a finalist for a National Jewish Book Award and winner of a Forward Fives Award, and seven books of poetry, including Forward Fives
award winner “Coming to Life,” Lambda Literary Award finalist “Transmigration,” and “Impersonation,” also a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award.
 
Ladin earned a Ph.D. in American literature from Princeton University, an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College. Since 2003, Ladin has held the David and Ruth Gottesman Chair in English at Stern College of Yeshiva University.
 
Ladin’s Westminster School reading was free and open to the public and was held in the Gund Reading Room of Armour Academic Center.
