Westminster to Host 17th Annual MS Walk

Westminster School will host the annual Walk MS: Simsbury 2017 on April 23 that begins at 10 a.m. at Armour Academic Center. On-site registration will start at 9 a.m.

Westminster faculty, staff and students will serve as volunteers, helping with the day’s setup, operations and cleanup. Many will also participate in the walk. This is the 17th year the school has hosted the event.

The walk route will extend from the Westminster campus into town and back. There will also be a shorter walk on campus.

With 327 people making it a success, last year’s Walk MS: Simsbury raised $41,355 to fund critical services and groundbreaking research, and move closer to a world free of MS.

Among the 30 volunteer coordinators this year are senior volunteer coordinators Brendan Jacobs, Max Powers and Payton Prendergast. They have organized and trained volunteers, and many have attended MS committee meetings.
