Two Students Recognized for Volunteer Service

At a school assembly May 16, Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company Chief James Baldis and Captain Jason Gilbert recognized Sixth Formers Tommy Jacobs and Jordan Barnes, both residents of Simsbury, for their volunteer service with the department’s Junior Firefighter Program. Both have participated in the program while students at Westminster.

“We are here to recognize two graduating seniors who have served in that role while students here,” said Captain Gilbert, program director of the Junior Firefighter Program. “We are presenting the students with certificates of appreciation for their countless hours of training and attendance at drills, and for giving selflessly back to the community in which they serve.”
