Martlets Fall on the Road

The Martlets traveled to Northampton this Thursday to battle against the Wildcats of Williston. Westminster came out strong, capitalizing in the first quarter with gritty defense and driving to the basket. They took the lead early, entering the second quarter up 8-7. However, the Wildcats fought back in the second quarter and gained the upper hand, outscoring Westminster 15 to 5. The Martlets entered the second half looking to play their game and won the third quarter in a strong attempt to chip away at Williston’s lead. Despite their efforts, the Wildcats took home the win today with a 40-29 final score. Leading the Martlets in scoring was Haley Cramer ‘24 with 10 points, followed closely by Bianca D’Onofrio ‘23 with 8 points. Lauren Neuman ‘25, Mather Thompson ‘23, and Ruthie Haims ‘23 all contributed 3 points, and Lilly Murphy ‘25 added 2 points. The Martlets now look ahead to their next game on Saturday against Miss Porters, to be held away at 6 PM.
